Take it apart and clean it. It's not rocket science taking it apart and putting it back together. Usually all you need is a very small screwdriver. Didn't mean for that to sound rude but it really is a very simple task.

Is it IN the faceplate, or behind it.

Faceplates come off.....

Take it off, get a tooth brush, wet it a bit, and scrub til it comes out

Looks like someone dips, but why would you put a dip in while you're driving.

its inside the screen...

pick up a set of screwdrivers intended for working on glasses...

take the faceplate apart. remove the circuit board. clean the screen protector thing. put it back together.
