F me, help me make a decision here.

Alright quickly:

I have very little money (college kid)

my 2 ID8s in .55 sealed werent cutting it.

spent $50 and made a nice 1.5 ported tuned to 32 for the trunk

went to take the subs out today one has a cracked cone

so i now have 1 ID8, and a sub box for dual 8's and no money.

What route do you think i should go here, and yes the thought of selling everything and getting out of car audio has even crossed my mind after these events.

rig up the cracked sub to work (glue) and when you have money and find a good deal on another pair of 8"s (sundown E8's maybe?) get them

you will just pay slightly more for them (~$70 ea.) later on

i still say you rig up the ID sub for now

just siliconed the ID8....front back...gonna do a nice piece of good ol duct on both sides after that dries...through it in the box and close the trunk on this miserable event

I think the 1.5 box was a little small, i ran on in 1.02 cubes after all displacement tuned to 30hz and it was very very impressive. Actually its now in my dad car for the time being and he is exteremly happy with the SQ, which is a feat for me as hes a big time home audio nut but says its too loud for him...

yeah pretty tight on space....not getting a height over 14" and a depth more than 18"...

i think i may have this ID8 ready to roll....although she is quite ugly now...

I bought an old idq 15 w/ a cracked cone...

I just glued/sealed the crack and it's been playing fine for more than a year now...

$35 win!

wow...fixed the sub, put the box in today (cleared by like 1/4 inch) and i am absolutely STUNNED at the output now compared to what is was before....based on my old setups and what i was metering...id say with the right tweaking this setup could do high 30's....and it sounds amazing, i could not be happier right now.
