Extra battery fusing question

new to the site, not to audio. have a quick question, i have a die hard gold starter batt up front and a kinetik 1400 in the rear that i need to hook up. i will be pulling around 1300 watts total and need to kno what size fuses to use on the pos. batt cable between the 2 batts

4 ga.; the shop out by my house wanted $5 a foot for 0 ga. and i already had a lot of 4ga laying around so im gonna use that. i have 2 60amp agu fuses w/ holders lying around too, would that be enough or should i go bigger?

60 is too small. You should fuse 100-120 amps for 4g wire. Although I would recommend 1/0 if you are truly pulling 1300RMS. You can buy it from knukoncepts for $3.4 a foot and about $9 shipping. Especially if you ever plan on getting another amp to power components (if you haven't). And it's always best to do a dedicated ground run when running two bats. Some bat companies, like batcap, say that's the only way you should wire their bat.

yup. plus you'll be drawing more current than 60 amps if you are gonna be running 1300 watts (rms that is) I'm installing my 2nd battery this weekend and with my 2 guage I'm gonna be running 150-200 amp ANL fuses. My current draw is only 120 with my NINe.1 so that is also something to think about.

the 1608d, havent ordered it yet tho, how does your nine.1 perform? i have no experience w/ ED so is it underrated at all?

You need a fuse on the output of the front battery AND the input of the rear battery AND the output of the rear battery to your amplifiers.

what ohm would you wire it to? If 2 or 1 ohm I'd consider upgrading to 1/0. Do you ever plan on adding a component amp?

its 1.5 ohm, if by component amp u mean 4 my doors then yes i already have one, an RF 450/4

I loved my 1206d though.... wish I hadn't sold it so soon, been a month without any real good bass, only got a small MTX on them now as I wait.

Are they both running on their own 4g power wire or sharing? If sharing, I'd definitely upgrade to 1/0.

In that case 4g would be OK. I'd go with 120amp fuse. @ 1100 RMS you'd pull about 100amps when running off your battery.
