Expert advice needed please

I have a classic 1971 Camaro that I need to get some tunes in. My idea is to not cut anything in the car. I want to have my IPod on the console with a cable that plugs into the headphone jack, connected to an amplifier located (300 watts?) in the trunk, driving a pair of bookshelf speakers located on the backseat. When I'm detailing or at car shows I can locate the speakers (long wires tucked into seat back when located on the seat) on the roof of the car.

Questions:

Will the IPod headphone output drive the signal to the trunk location or is line loss too great?

Which amplifier do you recommend?

Do you have a better idea?

Thanks much in advance for your advice.

WTF. Why does my question make me a dumbass. I came to this forum to try and get some good advice. Instead I get this abuse. I admit I'm no wizard. I recognize that you folks are. I'm honestly looking for your help, not your abuse. I thought that's what forums like this are for. Must be mistaken.

Hey Worlddre, the reason I placed the thread in the three locations was that I don't know which category best defines the area of my question. As it turns out it's a good thing that I did cause I found some folks who are not A$$HOLEs like you in one of the sections. FOAD
