Excursion System Rebuild

Very clean and thorough build! Looks like your really taking your time to do it right. Cant wait to see this finished! two thumbs way up:2thumbs:
Thanks!

Nicely done. Now you need to focus on electrical.

That's what I'm working on now.

Deciding what I want to do and where my power transfer will go. Most likely I will be using the same 4/0 I used in the last build. Also I am working on a mock up of the battery racks. I will have 2, one on each side between the frame rail and side steps. It's an extremely tight fit and may take a few designs to achieve what I'm looking for.

great work man. i love my excursion but i am so not looking forward to pulling the carpet and head liner outta that beast. it's a freakin mile long..lol

I didn't as much time as I wanted to this weekend to finish it up. We did some serious running around. But I did get a few things done on it

Got the speaker wires ran. Little texflex and shrink to make it look good.

I'm using the 6x9's that I use in the garage for tunes.

These boxes still serve double duty for the garage too, that is why I left the spring clips

Kind of like that.
These will have Volts and amperage readouts. They will have pewter ends but I am looking into black chrome with a smoked plastic cover.
Who would you have make something like that???

To bad you didn't know a ton of people tht wanted them, they'ed prolly come down in price... Seems like Volume is key..

I do have to order a large quantity of them. I will sell off the rest super cheap.

I'm still working out the details on them. They have a red led display ready however I thing blue will match the rest of the truck better. The silver ends are no problem however the smoked plastic will be extra.

At any rate, It looks like I won't have them in production till around the first of the year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

So I did some thinking out loud today. Was trying to decide what I was going to need for wire so I can order some up. But I need to decide how it is going to enter into the truck and where. 16 subs will eat up a good amount of room in the back so it will really limit on where I can put the amps. I was thinking of dividing them 4 and 4 on the front and rear of the box molded into the box. The front won't be too bad, but the rear may be a pain with the addition of the port. The other idea is to do them under the box. Not the best way to show them off but I was thinking about a pull out tray for the 4 in the rear.

8 HF-2500.1 really don't take up too much room once I laid them out.

At any rate, it's a good amount of wire from the alts to the battery racks and then to the amps. The trick will be figuring out how to feed all 8 amps from the batteries under the truck along the frame rails.
