Excessive Amperage Alternator broke 4 months after I bought it

should have bought a real alternator before killing your first one with your stereo. i keep everything, garage looks like the back at autozone.
my EA starts charging a little higher rpm than i'd like, but i'm about to ship it back to nate to be set up to charge lower. seems like a pretty nice guy, just swamped with hundreds of orders for delicate custom pieces. maybe needs to hire someone to sort and forward his emails. i doubt i could do any better, especially around christmas time while im trying to work in family time. can't blame the guy for taking a week or two's vacation, all he doing for us is work, same as you all do at your jobs.

now if my alternator comes back ****ed up, or no better than i send it out, then there are problems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
I understand, but when the guy can't correctly do the only thing his company does (make alternators) it kind of pisses me off.

i've had to send mine back twice. being busy is no excuse for bad work.

Does anyone know how complicated/time entailing, it is to replace a voltage regulator, so I at least know what I am in for?

Bottom line is most of us now know that Nate isn't good on his word, and EA makes shitty alternators //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

When i looked at alts 4 months ago, all i heard was how good EA was.

Seems that a few people have had problems with the ones from the groupbuy. Nathan is pretty much a one-man show, so when he gets a ton of orders he tries to crank them all out in a timely fashion.

I ordered mine before any groupbuy, and it's been doing fantastic. Installed it in feb. 05 and still works great, even with all the competitions and stereos i've put on it. Charges to AT LEAST 14.4v, more likely around 14.6-14.7.

It just sucks that the ones that fail get all the publicity, thus people make assumptions about the entire company. I know your situation sucks, but it'll be taken care of eventually. Hell, people used to complain every day about RE and their customer service, yet people keep buying from them. I've had 2 subs perform poorly, yet people still buy them.

It's all a matter of what gets posted and what doesn't. The bad stories always outweigh the good ones, even if there are hundreds of statisfied customers (which there is). 5 people post about a bad alt. and people assume the whole company is crap.

i'm tired of the excuse "he's busy" i've been waiting for a working alt since august. whenever i get my alt back that'll be the third one from him. also i'll never buy from RE //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In addition to that, I remember in late 2004 Dominick Iraggi was having problems as well. It eventually got taken care of. It could just be a bad batch of components floating around like last time. EA has always been a great help to me and others here.

I was about to go in on the first group buy Dom did, needless to say, i didnt. I got like 3 different quotes, he always changed the price (and never down, always up) and then just got fiesty when i asked him what was up with it.

There is always 2 sides to the story for everyone, maybe you have to much strain on it or something? maybe some bad wiring to have 2 alts die in 4 months?

i don't think my defrosters are too much strain for a 250 amp alt, and my wiring is not bad because my 10 year old stock alt is still going. these alts i have got from him have been doa. they have never worked from the moment i took them out of the box.
