ever got a ticket for tint?

so im at a stop light last night around 12:30 in the morning with my windows down. wasnt bumping or doing anything annoying, just sitting there talking to a friend waiting for the light to turn green. as soon as the light turns green a cop that was next to me turns his lights on. im like wtf is going on? he asks me if i knew why he was pulling me over and i said sir i honsetly dont. he tells me my tint is too dark and that it is illegal. well my tint is 10% so yea its illegal but in a sunshine state (florida) and my windows were open so he could easily see me, lets be serious...
so he gave me a 73.50$ ticket and said have a nice night.

I got the same ticket, bt i got 2 of em.

one for the front, and one for the back. when he saw the wall, he was looking and trying to find as much shit as he could trying to get me for it, but after reading his book, he came back with nothing.

actually i do. ive got really shitty vision

then get a note now, and go to court and tell them you need the tint for your vision. in michigan that is how you get away with illegal tint

my guess is 10% is illegal almost anywhere, so i don't think the cop was knit-picking. he admitted to having 10% tint so obviously the cop had to have known. write to jeb bush about illegal tinting, instead of ca.com

having limo tint is nothing uncommon here but ive never heard of anyone getting a ticket for that

sounds like your screwed. best bet now is to get a doctors note. then you keep it with you and just show them the note if you get pulled over.

I had 5% on all my windows and the whole front windshield was 20% on my black 99 cougar and never had any problems

Never had a problem . I live in Florida and I have 15%. I ride with my windows up at night and had plenty of cops look at me and never say a word.

when my dad owned my car, he got a ticket once

i haven't gotten a ticket since i bought the car, tho, but i live in the city, so the cops generally have better things to do

i know out in the country you'll get harassed a lot more

Ah Coral Springs, they're a little strict because it's a more upscale area then Hollywood... the reason for the tint laws is because a cop could be coming up to your window and you could be loading a gun and taking out a knife and they wouldn't even know it until it's too late.

you could do the same in a convertible and they would never know...

and for the creator of this thread, did you ask the cop how he knew you had dark tint? I would have been like how did you see my windows when i have been driving with them down. whats he going to say "You have been randomly selected for a random search" like at the airports. and i think legally(im not sure), since you were driving with your windows down he cant give hyou a ticket cause you respected the law by not driving with the tint up,you could have said its be removed tomaroo.
