Enlightened JL Audio W7

JL makes great subs, we all know that, they are very expensive and ask anyone who knows about making subs and associated cost, they will tell you that the cost is justified. JL makes their subs for a specific market and is very successfull. The w6 is one of the best subs ever made, ask anyone who truely knows about drivers.

Okay, you're getting too ahead of yourself here.

There is no, "best sub ever made."

LOL.
You're a dumbass.

Have you ever compared burps with JL and some other company?

You're just following the "JL sucks" crowd.

Please kill yourself you fucking faggot.
You should be banned for using internet gangster words that you can't back up. If you knew how to read you'd see that I like JL and way more experience than you have with it. I've already ran 12 and 13 w7s. I've installed the 8w7 and the 10w7, have you?

This is your only warning! Keep it clean in the tech and classified sections. Using vulgarity and racial slurs is against the rules and can result in bans. Hmm i had the 12w6v2 and it didnt sound like anything special to me in a ported box......i tried their recomended box built to spec and a 2 cu ft tuned to 31 hz sounded better but still just decent.....swap it out after the surround tore for a RE SE (old ones before the ***) and was wayyy more happier...plays deeper louder and cleaner...now i have a sa12 and cannot be any happier so if the w6 sounds better than the w7 it will be a sub i will never own with that price tag...BTW the w6 sounded nice in a seal box but no real output..

Aren't most of JL's sales going to people who are relatively uninformed? Also, isn't the W7 like a 20 year old design?
How many car audio woofers can you think of that use anything remotely "new" in terms of design? It's not missing anything except shorting rings, but 90% of car audio drivers, even the higher end non-mainstream brands don't have those. Nothing much has happened in the car audio industry besides XBL^2 and LMS in several years. All the non-mainstream internet companies use basic dated designs that are just overbuilt so they won't blow up when pushed to the limit by a SPL guy or 16 year old lol.

The w7 is a good design overall. SQ is better than most of the internet brands on here. Suspension is about the quietest I've ever heard on any driver bar non. That alone puts it ahead of most internet brands with multiple spiders in terms of SQ. It has as much xmax as about anything else out to boot so it is capable of good output, especially down low for a daily driver install. I'm not sure what MSRP on a W7 is, but it is still a very capable SQL driver. The few I've heard compared decently to most high end SQL drivers without shorting rings. AA Avalanche, Brahma, Icon, tc 2000's, etc.

I'm not saying that they're have been technological advancements in audio over the last 20 years, I'm just saying that it's pretty messed up that nobody calls JL out on coasting on their "flagship" W7 line, while their only new lines in a long time have been budget oriented.

Looking at major retailers online, the 13w7 appears to be comparatively priced to woofers like the TC Sounds LMS-Ultra 5400 and the Morel Ultimo, and I don't think that's very competitive.
