How many car audio woofers can you think of that use anything remotely "new" in terms of design? It's not missing anything except shorting rings, but 90% of car audio drivers, even the higher end non-mainstream brands don't have those. Nothing much has happened in the car audio industry besides XBL^2 and LMS in several years. All the non-mainstream internet companies use basic dated designs that are just overbuilt so they won't blow up when pushed to the limit by a SPL guy or 16 year old lol. The w7 is a good design overall. SQ is better than most of the internet brands on here. Suspension is about the quietest I've ever heard on any driver bar non. That alone puts it ahead of most internet brands with multiple spiders in terms of SQ. It has as much xmax as about anything else out to boot so it is capable of good output, especially down low for a daily driver install. I'm not sure what MSRP on a W7 is, but it is still a very capable SQL driver. The few I've heard compared decently to most high end SQL drivers without shorting rings. AA Avalanche, Brahma, Icon, tc 2000's, etc.
