I am building a enclosure for the SP4 15. As of now, I started to build a enclosure the is 4.51 cu ft (after port and subwoofer displacement) tuned @ 33Hz ( which is 50 Sq inches and 22 inches long). Is the port sq inches, enclosure space, and port lenght accurate for this sub???? I listen to Decaf and hip- hop music. The sub will be installed in a 2012 Hyundai Azera.

I used WinIsd Pro Alpha and want to make sure everything is good to go.

My current set up is a JL 13w7. I was just seeing how the jl would perform in the same spec box (green line on graph).

What are you using for power. If your using the same amp to power this as the w7 id look at a more efficient 3" coil sub

I will currently be using a DDm2.I went with this sub because I got it for a good deal.so, I need 60 sq inches of port area? @ what length?

The M2 is around 2400 @ 1ohm. The box is 5.45 cu ft net. Im going to have recalculate the volume after doing 72 sq in port area. Including woofer displacement and port displacement it should still be above 3.5 cu ft. Actually if I do 75 sq in @ 22 inches long. The box will be 4.21cu ft of air space.

The gray line is 4.35 cu ft tuned @ 33HZ with 50 sq inches of port area 21 inches long

The aqua line is 3.99 cu ft tuned @ 32Hz with 62.5 sq inches of port area 33 inches long

The pink line is 3.58 cu ft tuned @ 32Hz with 75 sq inches of port area 47 inches long

All measurements are including woofer and port displacement. I only have 5.45 cu ft gross to work with.

It seem like 4.35 cu ft @ 33 hz w/ 50 sq inches has the best results.

Don't worry so much about the port area, but rather the vent velocity on the amount of power you're running. Keep the vv between 24-26 m/s and you'll be golden. Play with the port area until you get the vv where you want it. From experience, I'd go with 3.75@32hz (net) and whatever port area you need to keep your vv between 24-26 m/s.

BTW, press the windows key and print screen button at the same time, then open paint and click paste. Now you can save it, then send it as a screenshot.

You could try to make the port longer, but there might be other reasons with the box won't extend lower, or even the sub. You'd have to reverse...
