EXACTLY!!!!
You see the reason why I bought this sub was because it was raved. I went through so many archives at the SIN forum reading about it. I even asked at that forum and everyone told me it would pound, I will be satisfied.
I mean it's not like I just decided to buy some unknown sub without wanting the details. I built the specified SPL box right from ED's own box builder. I asked about the amp since the sub is only a 350w sub and am putting almost 200w more. Plus the vented box is designed to play big with less power and I still gave it more power.
Let me tell you that box is sealed! I was helped by a guy that crafts wood for a living.
I read extensively on how to tune the gain. Spent a week muscling that box around my trunk for the best response. It does hit pretty good. But not better than this sloppy 10 setup. I doubt the guy even messed with the gain or tuned anything. He doesn't know anything about car audio and doesn't care. Everything was just thrown in there.
I'm just going to resolve the issue by buying a better sub. I'm not going to spend countless hours trying to get my sub to pound like a 10. I have heard one 15" Digital Designs sub and that thing shook the ground. I just think that yes ED subs are good for the beginner that wants some thump. They seem to be entry level subs.
