Hi all, couple of thoughts concerning Shiva versus the 13Kv2:
- We have more stroke, they claim more Sd. Even using the published numbers, the linear displacements are about the same.

- We're lighter. They claim their design is light, but it's a good 20% heavier in Mms than Shiva.

- We have a lower impedance (for a 4 Ohm connection). The DCR of a Shiva is around 2.9 Ohms, as compared to 3.7 Ohms. Easier to get power into the driver.

- Shivas have been refined over the last 7 years, and are proven to last. Not a new design rolled out, but a continuous improvement of a then-great driver.

- Lower Fs, higher Qts means lower extension for Shiva in a given alignment.

Unless the guy from elemental can come up with something to outdo what you just told me, dan, I think you've sold me on the shivas.

How does a shiva do with about 320w rms from the amp? I want to go with the dual 4 ohm subs, with mono amps. so 3 amps for 3 subs. what is the needed size for the boxes on the shivas. I want to go slot port tuned to about 35hz.

oh, and for the guy who said wall of tempests, they are too big, this is the trunk of a 97 altima, and I still want some useable space, otherwise I would.

Shivas are good...Tempests are good...eD's long wait isn't, but I'm sure their subs will hold their own.

It's pretty much a matter of whether or not you want to wait a considerable amount of time...

ok there's one more company in play.... you say their cheaper than listed, how much could I get them for? I see a thread already started comparing the 187 to the shiva, so i'll just watch that.....

That's just being fair based on the tardiness of these products. I've been waiting as long as everyone else, although I have gotten to play with a 13Kv.2 the last few weeks.
