Thak you for actually saying something worth reading.

The small box requirements is one of the things that got me to looking at the ed's seriously. you say its pretty loud? I'm gonna be pushing 320w to the same sub, do you think it will do pretty well?

the reason I want a smaller box is cause i'm gonna line 3 12's up in the trunk of a 97 altima. I need something that sounds good in a smaller ported box.

I'd stay away from eD just because of the PR mess they've created. There's just as good if not better alternatives like the Shiva or and ID or IDQ, all without the risk of buying from eD.

i have no experience with ed but i remember there was a controversial thread about ed a few months ago. Ever since then i havent heard much about ed on this site (ed was very popular at this forum) I think it had somethin to do with the subs not being reliable and the owner of the company screwing people over by selling the subs when he knew that some of them were defective or something like that. Thier new lineup was supposed to come out a few months ago but they kept getting delayed.

I'm sorry if i had any if this information incorrect so please correct me if i am wrong. But basically what most of the people on this forum is trying to tell you to stay away from ed. I do remember reading a lot of very positive reiews about the way the subs sounded though. but i guess its a big risk to take if you are wiling to take it.

oh yea...the site might say that the subs are available but a lot of people on this board dont know because i think they have been delayed several times.

Order them, don't get the Shiva's.

Then, when you are waiting for another 2 months, and could've had Shiva's delivered to you 15 times over, you'll wish you got Shiva's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Why not a wall with some Tempests?

haha. i did that back in middle july when i cancelled my kv2's. i havent looked back at all and i couldnt be happier with my shivas.

very sad...

last year in July I received my A Series in a week, no problems, nothing...

I'd say consider the eD line as equally as anything else...but I'm going Adire for my dorm sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hey man didnt you use to have th pgti's? if so, how do they compare to the shivas?
shivas are without a doubt louder and hit the "higher" notes better than the ti's but the 10's went lower. this is all due to my box size though. .94 qtc for the shivas and i had a .58 for the ti's. overall id go with the shivas...

wow wow wow

this subject never ever gets old I guess. There isn't really anything wrong with eD - they're like any other company, they just seem to have been caught lying once or twice. Who cares...they DO have good costumer service if you're nice to them (I've had the experience) and they DO make good products (once again, had the experience). Some of you on here (don't really know any names anymore) seem to think that following the crowd with what they say is the way to go anymore. If you haven't tried them out, then don't complain about how bad the service is etc.

If they say the Kv2 is louder than the original flat cone - then you've got one hell of a sub for a cheap price. The Shiva I have no experience on and can't and won't comment on - but from what I have heard it's also a great sub and I'd love to try one out some day. So it's really on your own desicion. I'm sure both ways you'll be happy.

Hi all, couple of thoughts concerning Shiva versus the 13Kv2:

- We have more stroke, they claim more Sd. Even using the published numbers, the linear displacements are about the same.

- We're lighter. They claim their design is light, but it's a good 20% heavier in Mms than Shiva.

- We have a lower impedance (for a 4 Ohm connection). The DCR of a Shiva is around 2.9 Ohms, as compared to 3.7 Ohms. Easier to get power into the driver.

- Shivas have been refined over the last 7 years, and are proven to last. Not a new design rolled out, but a continuous improvement of a then-great driver.

- Lower Fs, higher Qts means lower extension for Shiva in a given alignment.

- Shivas are in stock from all kinds of dealers...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
