Still looking for subs as i just cant decide on what i want yet. The elemental designs A-series subs sound promising. Have any of you heard one yet? I might be interested in 2 10"'s or 1 12". For the price they sound like they will be great. What do you think?

They have not been erleased, but I will be first in line to buy one!!!

rangerman do you think if i was going to go with a single 12" setup this would be a good sub to go with? It and maybe a jbl 1200.1 in a sealed enclosure? Thanks for answering all my questions on the other thread.

With that 1200.1 running @ 1 ohm, you will need a new alternator, but the rest sounds great! I hope to be getting an A also...

i'm with harley on this one............

will the jbl really pull that much current? most new full size trucks come with at least 110 amp alt., mine has a 136 amp one. i know alot of people really like that amp, but is it really worth it if u got to spend an extra bill or two to get ur alt rewound or buy a new one, just to push one amp? seems to me a person would be better off buying a different amp, say a rf 1500.1bd or jl1000/1 or mtx 81000d( i know people with all three and factory alts, i know of one truck with 2 81000d's in a explorer, factory alt. don't know if lights dim or anything, just know it's a factory altenator) and not have to mess with the alt. yea, they cost more, but what's a jbl 1200.1 and a new alt going to cost? come on RM straighten this out!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

anyone else??

JBLs are current w h o r e s, they **** a lotta juice...I would think that a 136 would be okay, but I had to go up...I learned this in abouth 3 weeks of one ohm with the 1200.1. I think it pulls 170 max??? I can't remember...

see,in theorey...

does the current draw not reflect the power its producing?

as the JBL puts out the same power at 1 ohm, it should draw similar power...

no?

is my logic flawed?

This is what the amp's manual says...

how can it draw (continuously) 170 amps with only 120 amps worth of fusing?

they cant be TAHT underrated (the fuses)....

Lower ohm=more current draw...talk to Josh on this one...I **** at current draw type stuff...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Originally posted by Wonderbread just checking, it seemed to me, taht that means that at 1 ohm, it just has its efficiency go all to hell?

plus waht about the fusing?
I ran a 1200.1 at 1 ohm and popped 3 100 amp fuses and had to go up...
