Electrical upgrades for 1500w rms

I would assume the big 3 would be necessary, but what about batteries? My alternator is 135 amps I believe, would I be fine with 1500 watts with the big 3 done on my stock alternator/battery? Or would it be wise to pick up a 2nd battery also? I'm also buying a brand new battery for my car on Tuesday since the current one in my car is dead.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah I'll be running the amp at 1 ohm. I was going to get a Duralast Gold because none of the auto parts stores in my town sell yellow tops for my car, actually my car isn't even listed on Optimas site either.

I may as well do the big 3 now in case I decide to upgrade later, was more concerned about the battery situation. Thanks for all the replies.

Thats a good alternator already, Big 3 should be all you need. Hell I plan to run 1900w rms off of a standard battery and a 105amp alternator with a big 3. Thinking I'll be fine. Just try it out and see what you're headlights do.

i was wondering the same thing...stock alot on my car is 140amps but im afraid i may need a second battery
i tell anyone you wont need any extra batteries until you get to the 1800 to 2000rms range a extra batt wont hurt but if you dont plan to upgrade from 1500 rms dont waist the money

I have seen people run big systems on stock battery and alt. It depends on the condition of the alternator. If you want to ensure the life of you system and have invested in expensive amp...do the big three upgrade at least....Upgrade the alternator and add a second battery. Do it one at a time if money is an issue.

Also, if someone is running 2K on a stock parts and later upgrade to H/O alt and additional batteries they notice a difference right away. You system is n investment.

I'll probably be using the amp I have now for a good while, just don't wanna **** anything up because I skipped out on electrical.
Good idea!

I have a 110amp alt, with 600rms @ 2ohm, I dropped pretty far. After doing big I barely dropped at all. Was able to run 800rms at that point. Added an HC600 and my volts are being held about .5 higher then they were before, and now running about 1300rms, and there is virtualy no drop (only .3 under the hardest hits).

Depends on how much the car needs, what the stock battery is, stock grounds and wires, etc... Cant really tell what you need unless you test it.

Well my car has 45k miles on it and it's pretty much been parked since April of 2010, so it's still in pretty good shape under the hood. I would assume the alternator would still be in good shape too. And I bought the MB Quart ONX1.1500D, so I wouldn't call it expensive lol.

I'll do the big 3 for now.
