Electrical recommendations?

Hey guys, I understand that I'm a new user here but I do plan on being active.

Hopefully someone can give me some pointers and what people think I should do to properly supply my electrical system. I currently have (2) Kicker CVX 12's wired down to 2 ohms on a Kicker CX 1200.1 amp (1200 watts rms). I just ordered a 145 amp H/O alternator for my civic and I plan on buying a Big 3 kit and doing the big 3. Currently, I am using 4 gauge power and ground wire. Stock duralast redtop battery that's been maintained with a 12V battery charger.

What else should I do in order to properly run my electrical system? Add another battery? Replace the stock one? Thicker power and ground cables? All of the above?

I'm looking for any recommendations at all even if it isn't electrical; although I'm primarily focused on electrical issues.

What do you guys think?

I would jump up to 1/0 power and ground for 1200 watts RMS power. but other than that you should be almost fine with that. see how your voltage does after putting in the alt and doing the big three, then go from there replacing your upfront battery and lastly adding one to the rear if needed. A good battery up front should be enough

depending on the car you have you may be fine but with a civic im sure he didn't have the extra current to supply even 1200 watts considering 140 amp is an upgrade for his vehicle

upgrade to 0 gauge power and ground and upgrade to a better agm battery under the hood. you shouldn't need a 2nd battery for 1200rms

Thanks guys. The stock alt only gives off 90 amps and I'm definitely getting some dimming in my lights and isn't doing me too good. I plan on upgrading to some psi woofers in a while anyways, so I figure it's better to take care of my alt now then later.

However, I'm worried that the alt I bought is going to be junk and a waste of money. It wasn't made fancy by DC audio or anyone like that. This is the alt I bought and I really hope it works and at least gives out close to its rated output

My stock alt is 70a, and I don't have any problems running ~1600w and a big 3. I keep in the 13 volt range. Just add things as you need them. But especially for only 1200w, you should be fine. I wouldn't go adding any batteries.
