I have a 1996 toyota Camry 2.2l. I got a 160 amp excessive amperage alt a few months ago. I was wondering if I could get an external regulator and run my car at 15 volts. I was also wondering if the 15 volts would fry my cars computer? I have oversized 0 gauge wire for my big three with one batt up front and two in the back.

Ive ran my impala at 15v for 2 years no prob

Personally the idea of running voltage higher than the car was intended to run makes me nervous but 0.6 volts shouldn't be a problem.
i agree and will add that it will also do next to nothing for your amplifiers. LOL

\Well it lessens the voltage drop when your slamming, like if you lose 0.6 at 14.4 it will be 13.8 whereas if you were running 15.0 it would drop to 14.4 and do "rated" RMS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

15V isnt bad although i still hear a lot about it reducing battery life pretty often. you can get it externally regulated, Nate at EA will do it for you if you send it to him

@argenis69; U will need a transpo ext regulator ..they are about 125 bucks..im not sure about how to wire one up thats already regulated internally if it will by pass it or not ..maybe someone can chime in...but yes if a company offers a ho alt for ur car u can request it to be externally regulated

When I bought my alt, I think I asked for that and they said it's not possible, but if you know where to get it or how to do it, please let me know, Thanks.
