First let me go back to when the problem started.

At the time I was running a Zapco 1000.1 hooked up din cables and a Zapco 9.0xd also running din cables.

Then I swapped the 1000.4 for a JL HD600/4 running with rca.

Then the problem, with the key in either ACC or IGN, I get a horrendous static sound through my front speakers. Almost like pink noise. It gets a little worse if I start the car. I dont have any whine just static.

If I remove the remote or the din wire from the 9.0, the noise goes away and the 600/4 plays clear and sounds excellent.

I have done every trick Ive ever heard of to get rid of this noise, Ive done everything from moving grounds, to running cables across the seats, to trying different rca's and din cables, to grounding the rca's the list goes on and on.

Any ideas?

One thing I also considered was the gain setting on the JL, but it cant be that because the amp works fine as long as the sub amp is off or disconnected.

I even tried a new HU......same problem.

Heres how my stuff is hooked up

800PRS, rcas shields grounded to hu chassis, HU grounded to solid metal with 10awg.

Power wire opposite of rca's

Kinetic 2000 in back with both amps going to - on batt, then - batt to chassis w/ 0awg.

Big 3 up front

The static noise/ hiss is there when the hu is at 0 vol, then gets slightly louder at vol 1, then remains constant. Doesnt matter is engine is running or not.

Any ideas! This noise is driving me nuts.

Try ungrounding the rca's from the h/u. Also, try running a different source like an ipod or another h/u if you happen to have one laying around. It sounds like the h/u is at fault

It may also have something to do with running the zap/symbilink and the jl together. too bad you still dont have that 3000d to test it with
Well, while I was waiting for Zapco to check the 9.0, I was running a US AMPS ax2k, which uses RCA, had no noise issues with that setup, then when I put the Zapco 9.0 back in, the noise came back. But Zapco swears no problems were found with the amp.

Yeah but the usamps used the regular rca's right? Anm you never had that issue until you switched out the zap 4 channel that used symbilink to the jl 4 channel that doesnt, correct? The way I see it, whether or not the 9.0 is bad in some way, yoiu are having a major issue with the mixing of signal cables.
