10 minutes/8 hours to dry/cure. Though it depends on how thick you make it. You could probably drive 10 minutes after application with no problems.

I'll try to get some pics up though I dunno how much they will help.

3-4 layers of raamat where the floor is thin, 3 layers of ensolite everywhere, and some pink insulation foam (not the fiberglass stuff) that I had laying around. To be honest I was pretty disappointed with the results of floor deadening, which I did about a week after the trunk and doors.

The wheelwells are really flimsy plastic behind the wheel, but above and forward of the wheel it is metal with some kind of plastic coating. I also tried to get as much up around the brakes/axle assembly above the tire as possible, without actually getting it on the parts of course.

Sounds like you did a pretty effective job on your floor. Im surprised you were unhappy with the results. Did you do the rest of the interior as effectively? Inside of the wheelwells is always a key area I focus on, lots of mat, lots of foam, then carpet backing stuffed into interior panel when placed back in. Also the doors are said to allow more road noise in then the floor on many models of vehicles. I focus heavily on the doors for road noise as well.

For filling in body cavities, it depends on the vehicle. My little S10 blazer for example, they have huge open cevities along their bedsides/quarterpanels. I cant even remember how many cans of foam it took to fill them, but the difference was aparent (even with no interior). I also used it to isolate several places where sheetmetal contacted each other (and would rattle) from the factory... another big difference... but not really road noise I guess. Some vehicles have precious few places you can use foam, unfortunately... or maybe fortunately.

PICS added! Really hard to get a good shot, but I tried.

As far as the rest of my interior goes, well I have done what I can. Didn't do the firewall because my dash is impossible to take apart + airbags are a PITA so I just have to settle with that. Doors are very much sealed and proofed, as you can see in the pic. There is 2 layers of raamat and ensolite under all that foam, and the pink stuff you can see.

I'm still toying with ways to seal up the interior rear wheel wells and around the back seat rear deck area, the problem is there is a lot going on there in terms of wires, bolts, and the seats/padding itself. There isn't really anywhere to put anything that actually touches or seals off the outside of the car. I'll keep trying to think of stuff though.

2 years ago i did my trunk and front doors in second skin sludge, took 2 hours to do it all and made road noise 60% less. deadening is much more effective and cheaper than bigger amps and subs

i also will attach a long length (30 inches?) of clear plastic pipe to the nozzle of my expanding foam can, this allows me to get the foam way deeper inside hard to reach places.

btw 60ndown, When you use spray foam in the doors you take a risk of trapping water (capilary effect). Keep that in mind since water will always get into your doors and needs a route to escape. When I was younger I did the same thing and it was not a pretty sight after a few years. One thing you may want to do first (from now on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) is spray undercoating in the doors first and let it dry. This will work as it's own sound deadening and also help somewhat to pretect the door metal (unless of course you drive a saturn).

Actually I can explain exactly how that "mess" happened.

But first of all, that is my rear door in my 4-door camry. The windows don't go down, I removed the mechanism...

The brighter yellow foam is non-pressure foam that I was using for something else and then I didn't use it for about 2 weeks. Well, the foam decided to clog up the nozzle completely and I couldn't free it up. So... with my door taken apart and ready for foam, I opened the can with a hammer and a screwdriver, and it exploded all over the place, so I scooped up as much as I could and glopped it in the door. As you can see it made a bit of a mess. But who cares, you can't see it when the door is assembled. The rest is from regular foam. I didn't have enough, but either way the foam doesn't like to stick sideways so it kind of just falls all over the place.

But yeah, if you've ever used expandable foam, you know it usually doesn't look pretty. Especially with big spaces like that.

Why would you take out your power windows in the back? I take it no one ever sits back there? I couldnt do that, hell even if I could, I wouldnt, lol!

Well when people sit back there they can deal with it. Not having the windows open isn't gonna kill them.

I don't plan on selling the car. I plan on driving it into the ground, so I can basically do whatever I want with it. I got a really good deal on it anyway.
