Ok I have not searched in the past few months but I did search before I ordered my last item from ED. I am very happy with my edead (V2 of course) I agree with you that trying to pull the wool over the customers eyes is the wrong thing to do.
I want you to understand one thing, not one have I demanded anything from anyone here.

Now as being a fan boy or ED fan a you put it... Lame I have stated that I have had a good results with the products as well as many of the "haters" (using that for lack of a better term) have had NO hands on with the products or the company.

I think if you are going to use my statements against me you really need to use them properly.

You say you haven't demanded anything, yet you come here and say these things said about eD are not true unless someone provides you with the facts. I call that demanding something. The information is available to you, just like the rest of us. Ieven gave you a starting point to search from... still not good enough for you. The list of scandals I provided earlier were merely the proven claims against eD, there are many more I do not know the truth about, so I do not mention them. There is plenty of irrefutable ammunition against eD and Ben anyway, no need to pile on further imo. I mean, how many shady deals, how many out and out lies, how many warantee claims must be made against this company before its decided they are simply crooked? I for one have past that limit. Im confident if you do a little research, and remain open minded, you will come to the same conclusion. You ask for facts, I provided the link to the facts surrounding one of these scandals... having you look the rest up is not asking too much.
If you do not like the labels being placed upon you, maybe you should consider your position. If you do not want to be considered an eD fan (and I dont blame you there), then taking the attitude of its all BS until we spoon feed you the truth/facts, is counter productive. You dont want to be labeled, yet you are happy to use the term 'hater' to someone who is merely providing FACTS about Elemental Designs. Facts are not hate, they are facts. Calling them hate is just another way to try and shift the attention elsewhere. Again, one does not need to have purchased a nine.1 or an eu-700 to see the shady practices of the company. This discussion has been about eD's business practices, you seem to want to alter it to only discuss their successful products, and ignore the actual topic... their methods. You bare all the classic eD fan tangent arguements. Nothing new here.

NA RSX you have to ask them about a "rider plan" I believe is what it is called.Most insurance companies don't cover aftermarket products.Like if you have a book of cd's layin on your seat and someone steals it its not covered normally.Usually it costs about 20 dollars for about 2000 dollars of coverage.

There is just no getting through to you. Again, this discussion pertains to eD's ethics and methods, not their specific products (beyond the failures that were handled badly, and the falsified products). This discussion was here before you entered it, yet you seem to feel justified in taking it on your own tangent, and playing victim if it doesn't work out.

I see what you are trying to say. You are trying to say some people jump on the bandwagon to hate eD based solely on rumor. What a revelation, but hardly relevant to this discussion. People jump on bandwagons every day, does not change any facts nor make the bandwagon wrong, or right. Unless... you are suggesting Im just one of those bandwagoners. If so... laff. Im the one schooling you on the fine points of this issue, points until now you were obviously ignorant that even existed... so forgive me if I do not back down to your oh-so-knowledgeable opinion on the subject based upon experience with a couple eD products, and an aparent complete lack of knowledge of eD/Ben's history. File that under 'opinion' all you want, walk away from this feeling vindicated all you want, the facts remain the same. Frankly, at this point I do not care what stance you chose to take on the issue. You demand facts, I provide them, you try to change the subject, etc... Its clear you do not want to know the truth, the truth to you is only what you want it to be.

Well after they stole my shiet, i definitely asked, and now i have that coverage, it was $60 for my RSX and Accord, and it covers up to $2500. So yeah, either way, i am looking around now for something new and better.

Any recommendations?

Im really curious what Ben's actual background in the field involves. Everything I see coming out of his mouth is either out and out lies, or seems to be mired in delusional opinion based not at all on real world facts. Does Ben have any real hands-on or technical background to justify his position as a speaker designer? I was refering to the physical apperance of the cone. Mainly the surround. I was simply stating that I didn't think it looked anything like a W7. And it shares some similar parameters. I said nothing about the performance of the driver. And I doubt that the Av.2 is actually an SQ driver. From the looks of it I imagine it would sound ok and get loud. Like the W7 I guess. But anyone that says the W7 is an SQ driver is on crack or has never actually heard one.

This doesn't look much like a W7 at this point because the design has been changed multiple times since JL Audio came down on them from trying to infringe on patents. Would you expect it to still closely resemble the W7 after that? I wouldn't.
Now I looka t the thing and think, yeah it looks more original.. but its also Ben/eD's second choice on the actual design (or the 3rd, or the 4th). The first containing copied technology from another company. Forgive me if I dont hold my breath in anticipation of its performance.

eD is a joke of a company, why should we expect anything original and spectacular from them. They have proven time and time again they are nothing but a crooked 'me too' company with no original ideas of their own beyond the excuses they invent for their actions.

Dear God I cannot believe this wretched turd of a thread has been dragged out for 11 pages. Additionally, it truly amazes me how ****ing terrible some of you are at spelling. For ****'s sake there's a **** spell checker available when you post, if you actually **** badly enough at typing to need one.

I'll just make a few quick points:

1) The 13AV2 is NOTHING like a w7. Absolutely nothing like it. The old basket obviously was, as anyone with eyes and a brain could plainly see. The driver itself, never was. It has, and always was, an underhung driver, with a big *** top plate. Contrast this with the W7, which uses a small 0.5" top plate, and a very long coil. In essence, the two are opposites: SGLC vs UH.

2) In addition to being NOTHING like the W7, it also isn't a "W7 Killer" as many are calling it. It certainly has more Vd/$ (displacement per dollar, for the incompetent) than does the W7, however. The venting on the basket was the only thing the two had in common, and now they pretty much have nothing in common, aside from having rather large surrounds.

3) It should be a decent woofer. I have seen it in person, yes, and I probably know more about it than nearly anyone in this thread. It's an underhung design with a lot of copper in the gap, so it will have a fairly linear, low Le (inductance). This isn't normally a problem for UH designs anyway, though.

Am I going to rush out and buy one? Probably not. Not because of Ben or eD (personally I don't really have a problem with either), but simply because I really have no use for one. I even know Ben personally, and have been to his home and business in it's various locations over the years several times.

As anyone who has known me for any period of time throughout my years on the forums, I am not a "fanboi" for any brand, even though in this case I do know the owner of the company fairly well. I am not here to praise or denounce Ben, eD, or the 13AV2.

I expect it to be a decent performing driver. It is not particularly efficient, but it will be very low in distortion throughout it's linear range (this is simply how UH designs work). Le is going to be quite low from the UH design itself as well as from the implementation of copper into the motor. In any UH design, the BL is ruler flat until turns of wire actually begin to leave the gap, and then it starts to rolloff, as fewer and fewer turns are in the gap.

Lastly, yes, the prototype is a bit on the ugly side. I saw the original one which had the venting under the basket, and I honestly can't say that prototype was much prettier. I am sure the production models will look quite a bit better.

Ben and everyone at eD has been saying this since the very first comment was made about it. I find it interesting that with all the differences and the fact that the original prototype did not have a W7 looking basket the comparison was made in the first place. I wish I knew who the first person was to compare this thing to the W7. I'd slap em.

I'm half blind, so I can't tell the difference.

However, as soon as they ship, I'll be listening to one in a friend's Acura RSX.

My personal review will follow. Gotta warn y'all I'm half deaf from decades of loudness.
