I have car insurance through State Farm. Randomly, without notice, they cancel my policy. A month passes and when I notice that my auto deposit payment hasn't gone through, I call them up. The lady tells me that they ****ed up and thought that my car had another insurance plan on it so they cancelled on me. I tell her that I still need coverage, but that I'm disappointed that they did not notify me of the cancellation. If something were to have happened (auto accident)in that month, I'd be in some ****ed up situation. She tells me that State Farm would have covered it because they failed to notify me. So...they reinstate my car insurance policy. However, they make me pay for the month that they dropped me as a customer.
Now...they are being assholes about giving me back my money. WTF?
Am I wrong to want that money back? I feel as though they are making me pay for insurance to cover last month, but who buys insurance to cover the past? Insurance is bought to protect against future mishaps!
Anybody know about car insurance or sells car insurance?
Cliff notes:
-I have car insurance with State Farm
-They randomly drop me without notice
-One month later, they reinstate me after I call them about the problem
-They admit that it's their fault, BUT
-They charge me for the month that I did not have an active insurance policy with them (because they dropped me)
