eD EU-700 has funky terminals

Kinda' hard to describe the "pod" that the door speakers mount in. I can't cut them without getting into a pretty serious "return to stock" problem.
Here's a pic (different speaker) -- note: on the inside of that black abs plastic "pod", there is an inner-surface that is smooth and follows the mounting circle diameter down to the molded surface of the door:

OO i did something like that for my friends install. what I did was rip that plastick molding thing out and make your own baffle out of mdf.

sorry for the kinda off topic question, but how high do these get? could they be used for some rear fill, or are they purely small subwoofers.
They have a rated frequency response of 20Hz-1000Hz, so they would theoretically be pretty freakin' good at midbass and low mid as a separate driver.

In my previous vehicle, I had a pair of Kicker Comp VR subwoofers (6.5") that were very similar. For limited bandpass midbass they were absolutely excellent, but anything up into the more audible and complex frequencies, they slacked pretty bad. Obviously that doesn't say anything about the Eu-700's, but it's an example used to caution against false expectations. Just because they're rated to go to 1kHz, doesn't mean they'll necessarily sound good doing it.

I have a strong feeling, though, that these will end up being terrific midbass supplements to my current system and am very much looking forward to getting some solid time to finish the install on them!

I thought about that for half a second, and would have done it in a hurry, to go with the CDT ES 07 series 3-way components, but the door surface is not flat all-around where the plastic pod meets it, so it would take a bit more work. Note: I don't plan to keep this truck long, so alterations to stock beyond reasonable reversible means is not an option.
