How would an elemental designs compare in output to a SS RL-p 15? Aren;t they both TC9 drivers? just curious i can find a 15AE for cheap might go that route and sell my XXX and save some money or just go with the XXX who knows

They're supposed to be very similar to the A series which had a good amount of output.

From the things I've heard about the Rl-p's, they should be fairly close. The thing you may want to consider though is replacement/repair. I know that eD does not repair their old models, they will just substitute it with a comparable model in their new lines (i.e. the O driver). For this reason, I would consider buying the Rl-p, a driver that will perform very similarly that is still in production.

well i already have an XXX in the basement awaiting install i can just get the AE cheap and will not budget the purchase of a RL-p

If you have the power, run the XXX.

If you want something else, sell the XXX and run one of the other two drivers. Both will perform very well on minimal amounts of power (in comparison) and will save you money.

The XXX is the best woofer if you have the resources to run it properly, otherwise you're saving money either route. I would go SS just because of the replacement (and valid warantee) but if you're not worried about running into problems, by all means run the AE, it's a very solid driver.
