Eclipse CD5444 gain setting volume...

what amp(s) are you running out of it? to set your deck.. keep your svc at 0.. turn your deck volume to 50 or 60 then adjust the gains on your amp(s) from 0 up to the point where your speakers are loud enough for your liking without distortion be sure to adjust the xover on the deck before hand.. it'll make a big difference! hope that helps you out?? as long as your speakers will handle the power and your amp(s) are set properly.. you can actually turn your deck up as loud as your speakers can handle

Amps will be both from the PG Xenon line. X600.1 and X100.2.

And I want to know whether or not the majority of Eclipse CD5444 clip at a certain volume level say 60, 70, or not at all with loud off, sla at 0, eq's flat. I don't have a scope to check it out myself. I know i've read some of the higher end Eclipses in this era didn't clip at even full volume, but I don't have one of them.

I ran the same deck with old school PPI Art amps and used 72 as my base. Worked pretty well. the only way to be sure would be to put it on a scope and find out exactly when it starts to clip, I would imagine each deck is a little different.

Wonder where I could find someone with a scope. Thanks for the response, gives me an idea of where to start. Probably use 70 as a base for now.
