ebay seller sold me a blown hk4000d! so i did this!

Like i said before, you are lucky that someone at paypal isn't doing they're job right.
Nowhere does he state it is working, and it CLEARLY says AS-IS
where does he say it is not working? i guess we should "assume" its broken when he says as is. i think to say as is you need to clearly state the condition whether is is working or not.

all you have won so far is the claim through paypal. Chances are he pulled the money out the account when he shipped especially ifhe knew he was selling a bad amp. The next email from PayPal will tell you that they were only able to recover 50 cents or some small amount.

If someone doesn't have enough confidence in what they're selling to say that the item is functioning or will be functioning fine upon arrival, then something is up. Always be skeptical, especially when someone has ZERO feedback. If there's any doubt, which there should have been, then ask questions...
Yes, assume it is not working. As-is means you're taking a chance, and that the seller is not giving any kind of guarantee that the item is working.

Lol it looks like there's a lot of people on here you should avoid buying from. Just because someone lists something as-is doesn't mean they have the right to sell something broken and then say well I said as-is. That's misleading to potential buyers. The seller knew it didn't work and was just trying to pass it off as working. He said it had been used for only 5 minutes. As-is is not another word for broken. It's open to interpretation.

Now with all that being said there's no way in the world I would've bought this thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif. No feedback, listed as-is and no returns. With pics that clearly aren't of the actual amp he was selling he probably got them online somewhere. That's like buying something off here from one of those scammers with 2 posts, no refs, no pics with username lol (and people still actually buy their stuff and complain when they get scammed). The chances of this being a scam were about 80%. People really need to think before they buy stuff online especially stuff this expensive.

I've never used the words as-is in any of my for sale threads or ebay auctions. I always say that the item is 10/10 functionally and is guaranteed to work...no confusion there.

man yall some of the stupidest @ssholes ive seen in a long time. first off how in the hell is the op supposed to know if the amp were going to be blown? so why would he even make an mf video opening the amp i bet half you mf never even did that yourself. bottom line is the op gave the guy the benefit of the doubt by buying it As is. and common courtesy would have told the guy to at least mention that the amp wasn't working. i cant believe some of you guys are actually making it look like the op fault. boy if i could meet only half of you guys in person. Shaking my Head.

Let me guess, you wouldn't do anything.

IMO, the OP should have known better. Like stated earlier, that's like buying an expensive item from someone on the forum who joined a week ago, has 12 posts, no references, and no pics with their user name in them...and then being surprised that the transaction didn't work out.

They have been holding payments lately. Buyer protection. My guess is they held it due to his zero feedback and being an electronic item. They did it to me a couple times as well but released the funds once the buyers left postive feeback. It takes 24 hours for them ro release the hold.

did you not read my quote from the dictionary? I see you ddn't bother quoting it but... AS-IS means AS-IS, bottom line... should he have mentioned it wasn't working if he knew, yes, HOWEVER he is not obligated to do so. as a BUYER you should KNOW the product you are purchasing, as questions BEFORE you commit to an AS-IS contract to purchase. It goes bck ot the car thing. I want ot see someone go to a used dealership and buy a car then try to return it for ANY reason. it WILL NOT HAPPEN because it was purchased AS-IS meanign as the buyer you are responsible for researching the condition of the product. If you want to talk about scammers, i just had a bad deal not too long ago i am sure we all remember with adam_merseal. He didn't really mention the condition of the XXX15 so i asked and he said it was mint, THAT is a scammer.

I never said the guy was an idiot, or called him any kind of name. I simply said that I wouldn't have done it, and that he should have known better...especially due to the seller and what was described in the auction. I really don't see anything negative about that.
