ebay seller sold me a blown hk4000d! so i did this!

i know buying from a seller that has little feadback is risky, but i took the same chance with my first hk4000d off ebay for 200 shipped it never had a problem. guess i shouldn't have pushed my luck. lol

You got VERY lucky IMO!!

i remember when AS-IS used to actualy MEAN something. The seller never said ti was working or made any reference to the functionality of the amp or anything so i don't see that he was really in the wrong. If you buy a car from a car lot AS-IS that thing can break down five seconds after you sign the paper work and it is your problem, NOT the car lots.... should be the same with everthing else that is sold as-is

just by reading the description, he leads you to beleave the amp makes all kinds of power and you're neibors will hate you and what not. never did he say the amp has a problem and needs to be fix first.

paypal allows you to file a claim if the item is signifecantly different than described. then all that as-is, no refund, no exchange talk takes a back seat. (parden my spelling)

the auction never mentioned it was in working condition or NEW it stated "USED" and "SOLD AS IS" which would have been my first clue the amp had something wrong with it.

i told paypal that it appears that the photos are stock photos because they all were taken in different setting. paypal looks for things like that.

I only buy stuff that I can go pick up locally. As far as the ebay listing, I would have assumed something was wrong with it. As-is means that something's wrong in my book. I'll never buying anything that has as-is in the description...didn't the $200 selling price clue you in to why no one was bidding on it? As far as I can tell the seller didn't do anything wrong...
