Cheater amps came that way from the manufacturer.

They do rated power, its just that the rating is low on 4 ohms and climbs as its decreased.

But they are still rated by the manufacturer.

if this thing put out rated power do you HONESTLY think you and the seller are the only people that would know this? and do you honestly think ANYONE would put an amp "that powerful" on ebay with a $0.99 starting bid and no reserve? Do you really think it would only have like 5 bids and be at like $60 if it was "that powerful"?

Actually, yes they did need to come from the manufacturer that way.

Cheater amps were created by the manufacturers to qualify a low wattage amp (rated a 4 ohms) with IASCA for their soundoffs back in the late 80's through much of the 90's.

Any amp modified by an outside shop would be disqualified from being allowed to compete in the original rated power class.
