easy way to test a sub?

I got a sub from my mom's boyfriend friend. its a 10 inch sub in a sealed box.. which has another 10 inch whole. but he doesnt know if it works. and dont wanna too hook up my amp and have to run wires and get a amp kit. how can i test this amp real easy just to see if it works

Get a 9v battery or any battery for that matter...put the + to the +and the - to the -OrGet a DMM and check the coil to make sure it is reading correctly.

use a dmm to measure coil resistence and push lightly on the cone and make sure it moves freely
