Easiest Way To Wire Voltmeter?

What would be the easiest way to wire a digital volt meter near my middle console? Maybe tap into the cigarette lighter? The meter only has a positive and a negative so will I need a switch?

Mines wired to my deck. But shows the voltage at the amp

i actually just did this task a few days ago. i ran a positive run from my amp and connected that go a rocker switch from radioshack, and with the other pin go to your voltmeter. and for the ground i just found a normal factory ground under the dash
