Are these safe to run in your trunk, or are they not sealed?

Is this a decent battery, it is a very cheap, it said in the store it puts out over 100 AH's.

doesnt say anywehre its sealed...dont even kno if its an agm but if it is its sealed...just call them in the morning and ask

Not sealed. It has caps on top. But 100 ah's is nice.

I'm sure it's perfectly safe. As long they're strapped/clamped into place and can't move.

I've seen plenty of cars with standard batts in the back.... never heard of that issue. Not saying it's not possible, just never heard of it.

Buy a decent AGM and you won't have to worry about outgassing, u cheap bastard.

jk...they all outgas if they get pushed hard enough, and I wouldn't worry much about it. esp if u do go with AGM

True, but unfortunately I don't have that much to spend. So if you guys honestly don't think it'll harm me I'll probably just get one of these and strapped it down super strong and get a holder etc.

if you put it in the trunk, you need to put it in its own enclosure that is vented to the outside.

sadly, most of the trunk/rear battery additions i've seen done (both in-person and pics in forums) are/were unsafe. usually poor mounting, lack of fusing, termination/wiring methods, battery type, etc.

sealed AGM or GEL are what is recommended in a trunk.

my batt in my cobalt in the trunk is not sealed :0

I used those for years with no issue. Not my first choice but they're pretty solid for the money as far as performance.
