So I'm pounding away demoing fir a friend, then left my car running for like 15mins on a very low volume, I leave and my amp cuts out, I get home and meter it, it said my batteries voltage was like 8.__ I was like whoops, I thought at first I fried the alt, took them both in and he said they tested fine. Now like 5-7 hours later it tests at 12.__, did I just stress the alt enough to take most of the juice from my battery at the time?

alt doesn't keep up with the amp power draw
It's been good since I've had it for 2-3 Weeks I guess going fult tilt while driving and doing full tilt demo in 1 day isn't good with the stock 105a alt, and interstate megatron2 battery. Ive been meaning to get a new battery(stinger or xs) along with a second battery then an ho alt. Thanks mylows.

Due to my Sherlock Holmes skills I have discovered my issue!

I need to buy a longer self tapping screw or a longer bolt that fits the screw size because the amp cut out again and I was like WTF? so I goto my amp and its off, I goto the grounds and move the wire/mess with the bolt and amp comes back on, so my ground must ****? Any tips on using this location its on the trunk base straight through the trunk floor to the outside.

I have many. 1/ sand that shit real good because there is too much paint in the way. 2/ clean your damn ring terminals they look like a monkey came all over them and than too a shit on them. 3/ don't ground in the same place twice not a good idea. 4/ if you ground directly to the frame you will get the best ground possible.

1. The ground is bolted directly to the cleaned surface might not look like it.

2. Are you talking about that bottom one with some copper looking shit on it?

3. As in if I remove it don't ground it there again? or are you meaning don't use 2 grounds in 1 location.

4. I was thinking that eventually, and since the gas tank is under the back seats I have plenty of places to drill.

Yes 2 grounds 1 location is a big no no.

Hmm alright, I thought I heard it was okay, even if its the potential dual input for my amp? (right now the second ground is a dead ground since its not connected to anything until I get some custom materials from Anthony [Toolmakers])

You can ground to the same place with just an amp I thought it was a battery and amp my bad. But I would clean up that connection.

I'll try my best //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but I'm pretty sure getting a longer bolt and better securing it would help with the issue I posted in the original post thanks Murph.

One more suggestion use a few more self tapping screws for the sides of the ring terminal to help hold it in place better.

Makes sense, I was gonna use a bolt and a nut and just tighten the shit out of it (not to break the terminal but tight to prevent moving)

I think I found the culprit

Is this the result of a loose ground screw/low voltage? or high current pull

I replaced it with a longer screw, but I'm worried it still kind of moves when I try to move it, is there a way to make it more secure? be it redo it using loctite or finding a nut to fit the screw and try it that way or something.
