Double AMP install .. Long.. but HELP!

Ok, so it seems my new setup is going to involve me spending some money on the wiring etc...

currently I have this installed

Clarion APX200.2 (two channel amp 220 x 1 @ 4 ohm) max current drawn 28 amps

Regular Ring connected to battery ---> 8 gauge wire --> AGU fuse holder with 35 amp fuse in it --> then straight to amp..

I'm purchasing a Visonik V900xd...

I want to run both amps (CLarion for fronts) Visonik for sub(s)

THis may sound complicated so bear with me..

I know this amp has capabilities to put out approx 1500 watts! (NO way in hell i will be running that much ... I THINK my alternator will die before that amount of wattage produces)..

I will probabl run the amp no lower than 2 ohmm ... and perhaps even at 8 ohm (cuz my sub handles only 400 rms...)

Its just I want to be able to have future upgrade (if i decide to get a new alternator or new subs)

anyways ... to keep COST DOWN and ensure FULL SAFETY what do I need?

I'm seeing the appox max amps will be about 140 AMPS

I'm use to purchasing Fuse holders for 2-3 bucks USA dollars ... fuses for 15 cents and the 8 gauge wire for about 10-15 cents a foot ....

This store does not carry ANL fuses , Holders, or anything lower than 4 awg... SUCH A ripp off IMO to buy that Stinger/Phoenix GOld stuff... Do i have a choice???? :S

dun insult PG stuff, they give you what you pay for and are heavily underrated in any product they sell.

If you want a cheap but quality in between solution then go for caliber wiring, its decent and affordable

I have found ANL fuses on eBay for as little as $5.00. I FINALLY found them locally at a Car Audio place here for about that prices, but the seem to be rare otherewise. Hell, most electronics places hadn't even heard of them WTF?! Anyway, go to eBay and search for user Bag-Boy. This is Darvex.com. GREAT seller and has great prices on all that wiring management stuff. He also works with you on multiple items in regard to shipping costs. I'm running a 1200w JBL and a 180w JBL and I have 1/0 from the battery with a 150a ANL fused holder at the battery and then a fused block in the back with a 150a and 80a fuse for the respective amps. Works fine.

Mike
