Double din issues

Hi guys,

I have a Nakamichi NA6100G double din head unit. It was working fine until today when it just randomly switches off and back on again and immediately back off again and so it goes on. There is a reset button the front which i pressed and now it doesn't switch on at all anymore. The backlight of the buttons comes on, and cycles through the different colors but never stops and never turns on anymore. I took the unit out and made sure all the wires were properly seated, which it was. I unplugged everything and plugged it back in which yielded the same results.

I just want to know is the unit dead or is there something I'm doing missing here?

Electronics can be very easy to troubleshoot. If it's getting power and ground and it still doesn't turn on, then the unit is bad. However, electronics will have a lot of safety features to prevent it from frying. Try just connecting the two power wires and the ground to the radio. This will let you know if there is a short that is causing it to shut down. It will also let you know if the radio is bad, after trying the reset button.
