Door-to-door salesmen

We've done well on the word of mouth in the landscaping portion, but this is our first venture into snow removal

 
You are right, it does depend on the area. And i probably wouldn't mind if this guy came by offering this product as long as im not sleeping. Problem is most of the time people come door to door, if you dont answer because you're sleeping, they think you didnt ehar them and knock a few more times. Also, the only people that really come around my door are JW's and such so that probably doesnt help my opinion of it

They use to come by my apartment complex, and they ended up playing football with us once lol. I would never let one of them in my house though

 
door hangers will give you a hand full of leads per thousand

door to door sales will get you tons of rejection but it will produce buyers

flyers wont do ****.......maybe 1-2 leads per thousand

WOM is the best way IMO and if your a new guy it takes time

Landscaping is an over crowded business anyways

 
If you have clients already, mail them a letter. If you really want to make cash, get a yellow pages ad and get advertisement everywhere. Have a slogan that would suggest youre a family man. door hangers with estimates and an outline of services would be best. tell as many middle aged and old people as you can.

 
Alright, so I know everyone hates door-to-door sales, but I have to generate some business somehow. This is for a landscaping company, and in this case snow removal. My question is this: what makes you the least angry, and most likely to use the company's services?
