Does the economy have you nervous?

does anyone know how bad the Depression truly was?
its not going to get to that level...but man, we are lucky that we dont live in the 30s

I'm pretty sure it is literally impossible to get as bad as it was.

But yeah, I haven't felt any "impact" of the dwindling economy.

140k and nervous lol

imagine how people making 20-30k feel

It was not long ago i was in that bracket. The more you make, the more you have to lose.

Someone in 25k range has a Car and that is about it.

Lose a job in that range, lots more around the corner. Income has no relevance to feeling the pinch of the economy. When you grow up poor, you never really lose sight of that. 4 bucks a gallon doesnt hurt me really, but **** if i can not shake that cost out of my mind.

I still hate paying 80 bucks to fill my truck, regardless of what my income is.

I am still a tight *** at heart.

Are you a "10 year" teacher yet?

Yes It has me very nervous. I'm 18 and fresh out of highschool which means I'm about to start a new life at some rough economical times. I have been unemployed for over a month now and I've never tried so hard in my life to get a job. I've applied everywhere, gone to temp agencies, department of workforce services and still nothing. Luckily, thank god, I have a very promising interview tonight at a nice paying steel factory. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif. But all in all I'm very strong mentally and physically so without a doubt in my mind I will make it.

Jobs are rough right now. I settled for 10.00/hr somewhere I didnt want to be. Granted the pay isnt THAT bad for starting out, and it's some of the easiest work you ever pray to have in your lifetime, but still.

I was unemployed for almost 4 months before I found this job. I jumped on it, asked no questions, and do what I gotta do.

im not concerned or worried yet. my opinion is that the people who live above there means seem to be having the hardest time. i understand we all have a few pleasures but at the higher price of living ppl are forgetting hat middle class really is. no one needs a highdef tv with 100+ channels or at high def at that matter. and on and on. look at the ealry 80's if u had cable u were doing good in the middle class, now adays everyone has to have all the newest things and there *****ing cause they cant afford bills. people are slow to adjust and do need someone to hold there hands and there wallets.

I have to start college in the fall. I have enough money (me and only me, not my parents) to get through one semester. I'm going to work my way through college the best I can with my 8 dollar an hour job (seasonal I might add). My parents are going to help me out but I'd like to pay for college as much as I can on my own. Ever since gas went up, I got less money I could spend on my paychecks because of spending $50-70 for two weeks of gas. When you only make $300 every two weeks, it's hard to save for college, pay for gas, and enjoy yourself. Hopefully things will get better with our economy but I'm prepared for the worst.

Ive been married for almost 20 years, own my house, life is good, wife and I bring in around 140k, and for the first time in my life, I am actually a little concerned about the economy.
These gas prices impact seemingly every area of our economy. People are really starting to feel the pain from the current housing market along with gas prices. Are you nervous about things? I hope this is just another bump, but I fear we may be in for something nobody in our generation has seen.
You are 100% correct; the last time something of this magnitude was in 1928...and just like the Titanic : this is just the tip of the iceburg!!!!!
