hey i wanted to use a 12W7 and add 2 jl 8W3V2's for just some icing on the cake for extra punch, is it bad if they share the same airspace in a sealed enclosure, would it hurt the performance any of either of the 3 woofers or woudl i be beter putting them in 3 seperate compartments, thanks!

Mixing different types of subs is bad even when in separate chambers. If in separate chambers you wont hurt the subs but there will be alot of cancellation issues and different sounds for one note. In a common chamber the different responses of each sub will end up working against each other and destroying them.

It is always recommended that sealed enclosures have a seperate chamber for each sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

what if instead of using the 8" Subs, i used midbass speakers and shared that volume with the sub, just some 6.5" midbass simply mounted to the same box, would that also be doing the same bad results? the midbass speakers im referring to are free air and i was jsut wonderin if it also would have an adverse effect?

Midbass drivers aren't strong enough to withstand the pressures exerted from the woofers. Unless you want to attend a midbass funeral. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yah as soon as you hit one note with you W7 you will now nolonger have a sealed box but a box with two 6.5" ports.
No, 6.5" Passive Radiators //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But, as mentioned, you don't want to put the midbass drivers behind you. And they definitely wouldn't withstand the pressure exurted by a W7.

Why are you so determined to add something to the box?? The W7 will be fine all by itself for subbass duties. And if you need better midbass, replace your front interior speakers with a component set if you haven't already.

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.
