Do you think this shop charged me too little like they claim?

Love 'em. My only complaint is that the higher frequencies aren't as bright as I'd like them to be, but I also don't have any hisssss in them so I'll take that trade-off anyday.
I plan on running them active here in a couple months, so maybe I can get some more out of the higher end.
cool. How is the midrange/mid bass in them? Is the mid bass enough to vibrate your car a bit, or no?

u got a good price, what was the price he as trying to charge u?
450. But i was just mad that they completely re-negged their price and than tried to convince me that the guy told me it was more than he wrote down. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Im sure the guy probably misunderstood me, but that is his problem. It shouldn't be my fault that their sales person made a mistake and underquoted me. If the would have quoted me 450, i would have definately not let them installed it, because i already had another place as backup that also wanted 350 for it.

I'm being extra nice and polite to them when i call up and check the car status though, i really don't need them getting pissed off and doing a bad job. but i would hope a shop would be professional enough not to spite customers by doing shotty work, that seems like it would backfire right in their face (they told me there is a lifetime warranty on their labor, so im not really that worried either, because if they screw something up that is related to install, they are gonna hve to use up more shop time to fix it).

If I were you, when you pick the car up, if the install seems to be of good quality, Id tip the installers.... give $50 to split as a tip, you're getting a good deal, and if you have any problems, they'll help you in a hurry in the future

So today im getting my radio put in. I was at the place a week and a half ago, and i got a quote from someone there. In a car w/ a bose system, i told them i was getting a head unit put in, a set of components, a speaker amp, a sub amp, and a subwoofer already in the box that needed to be plugged in. I also needed all wires/distribution blocks/dash kit. The guy quoted me at 350 and wrote it down (but didn't write down w/ accessories even though i asked him 10x before i left if this was really the price with everything)
So I go today to drop my car off, and the guy who quoted me claims he told me 450 which wasn't true, so i tell them ill go home and fax them the estimate. I fax it to them , and i talk to the shop owner and he says the guy didn't write down with wires, and it should have been 350 just for labor + wire kit costs, to which i said thats not what the guy told me when i came for an estimate. SO he said they already started doing the car so they will give it to me at the 350 price, but then started saying that it was an insane price and telling me he hopes i know how ridicously cheap he is giving it to me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Honestly, does 350 sound that cheap for a full system install, because to me it sounds about right? 450 just sounds outrageous.
That seems to be a good price to me. I think I got ripped on my last install, which knowing first hand how local shops can be, I just should have sucked it up and installed it myself like most of my cars. I ended up paying 500 bucks for deck, front componets, (Which they were supposed to make a seperate hole for the tweets, instead they just put them in an adopter plate with the mid) new wire to componets and back factory speakers, 1 12" sub, sealed box,(Which they custom made, so that was 100 bucks) bass amp, highs amp, xover, battery. Had all the wires ran, so the true pain in the *** was already done from previous system in it and it still cost me 500 bucks. Also had custom foam in done as well, which means the sub is facing in the cabin and sealed off from the trunk. Yeah it was real custom, lol! Shit I could have done this shit blind folded better. They didnt even finish all the panels to cover up the wires and shit. Was pretty much pissed to know extent. Then it didnt sound right what so ever, (truned out to be sub, but didnt know that and thought I had a leaky box, so too it all out myself and redid it to finally figure it was the sub being bad.) So it was all a waste of 500 bucks.

My advice, learn to do it. Reason I had this done is after I installed and ran all the wires I was really hurting. My back is so screwed up anymore and cant be bent over for long periods of time. Well, I will be hurting again before I get ripped off for that much again.

Why did you not have Don do this? He won't give you this BS run around. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Moreover, due to part performance on the promisor, and the fact that you detrimentally relied on that price to get the work done there, this contract is valid. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
