I think the first muscle car is really subjective. I seen one show claiming the mid 50's Chrysler 300 the first one.

I seen a guy that had a ls-6 Chevelle and he said it wasn't even streetable.

I sure like that 09 challenger, great looking car. I'd say 370 horses qualifies for a muscle car.

 
Ive driven a pretty much stock 70 LS6 chevelle. It was streetable. You just have to know how to operate a manual transmission'd bickblock that is cammed. Luckily I know how. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah Im not going to get into what is the first true muscle car, that's a highly debatable topic. But I felt it was safe enough to say no 1966 model was the first muscle car.

 
I am still a bigger fan of G-bodies than I am of any other era. Creature comforts of today with engine bays that can swallow 500 cubic inches. I am sure the frame to that Cutlass was built stronger than the frame to my old S-10.
