This is true but times have changed... People want electric everything and all other creature comforts that new cars have. Now a days we want all that horsepower but want to be comfortable while doing so.
Personally i wouldn't mind a stripped down muscle car because they aren't suppose to have all the extras, but people actually care about cabin noise and things of that nature.
People wanted those comforts then as well. I suppose now they are a bit more used to them. Not sure how well a car with A/C, radio, heater delete would sell.

i got a barebone manual stang for 15000, i could do w/o the auto windows, tachometer, the heater, really anything (i used to drive an old bug and i love the simplicity)

it used to be if it broke use ducttape, now if it breaks it cost 300 dollars to fix

the only thing i want to keep are the cup holders, that is an invention that is worth splurging the extra 50 bucks for

Its simply not economically viable to design and build a car in today's market that is geared towards such a relatively small market like people who would buy a true muscle car these days. No features, no power anything, no AC... sure, some would sell, to the hard core people. But the R&D and implimentation of a car design is not paid for by that sized niche of the market, unless its priced in the 'exotics' territory. The sales figures required to keep a model in a range the average person can afford means also appealing to women driving their kids to school, middle aged guys commuting to their office job, etc.

Remember guys, even the 60's "muscle cars" came in 6-cyl versions.

Tell me about it. My 66 Mustang was an I6. Surprisingly fuel effecient if I added the lead stuff.

new camaro i want the charger can **** a dick and so can the mustang unless its the gt500.

and for the record they need to bring the Buick Grand National back along with a better impala and also bring back the gbody cutlass

and if pontiac comes back they better bring back the ***** am and firebird, maybe even another firehawk. if they dont i will shut that company down again!

IMO I don't like them at all, they are turning out to be less reliable than the old ones "no surprise there" not to mention they have no were near the power as some of the old ones had. I will stick with my imports reliability...FTW

Maybe it's just me, but I have never had an issue with GM reliability. I have owned several and they all did okay. Maybe it's because I expect to have to replace parts from time to time. I am unsure.

and 4 cyl

Eh In my eyes they really aren't representative of the true muscle cars of the 60's and early 70's. I like them and would own a 2010 mustang If I had the money but I don't think the should be called "muscle cars" Far too heavy and too many comfort items.

Got into a GT500 today at the dealership and holy plastic factory. Besides the leather seats, It had as much plastic as the kia soul at the dealership next door. I was not impressed for it being a 40k car

I got into a Nissan GT-R. And looked into the engine bay. Now there's a car.

Screw these new "muscle cars".

Either get an old one, or get something that's good in these times.
