Do you feel safer with a gun, or without?

Its been proven that used in a specific way, ANYTHING can kill you. So in the wrong hands a molecule of oxygen could kill you.

I think with proper training its fine, unless you have someone living with you. Then your only as educated as the dumbest person in your house.

True. I was thinking in my case. I hear something in the middle of the night, the gun is loaded and safety is off. If intruder does not identify himself, there will be no need for hand to hand combat in my case. He will have some #1 buck in him before he gets close enough to me.
But I can see that there would be other cases where hand to hand combat would be needed
My concealed classes taught hand to hand combat strategies before teaching proper drawing of the weapon...

x2. And sadly, the average american that buys a firearm will not receive any training nor fire as often as they should...
Exacty. But there are the more intelligent people(no offense to the other people lol) that know what they are doing when it comes down to guns. Esp when it comes to using one.

I try to go to the range as often as possible. That way I know what I am shooting and the capabilities of the fire arm

Kinda...its just the RISK of getting hurt by your own gun is greater then getting hurt by someone else's gun.

But yes, in violent confrontations in home's as well, you are 2.7 times more likely to get hurt by a gun then hurt the intruder.

And remember... this very true saying...

Every time someone from Canada emigrates to the US, it raises the IQ in both countries //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I understand what this Canadian is saying, and why he is saying it --- I think. Statistically more families with guns is the house end up being harmed with those guns than there are people whose ***** were saved.
But that does not mean that I should not have guns. Let's face it, I am much more intelligent and responsible than the average American. That's x 2 as compared to Canadians.

And the fact that lil kids like to explore, And alot of people are too dumb to put them somewhwere safe. (Not say you'll are!) Which there isnt alot of places kids cant get into( they are hella smart these days haha)....Think of all the school shootings...Where did they get there guns...Suicides?...All kinds of shit happens with guns that can be prevented, And im sure your thinking ohh i would put it somewhere safe, But im sure they said the same thnig, Everyone slips up, and one time is all it will take. I know guns are a good thnig also, But alot of shit can be prevented by not ahving one....IMO

I Dont have a gun at the house. But I have a big *** machete and another sick *** wolf Knife made By the indians in central america it was giving to me as a gift thats all I need and believe me I can do some serious damage with it.

*blink*

...

Yahtzee, lol.

I mean... let me completly exaggerate to show the point.

Why don't people keep radioactive material in their house to throw on intruders. Because the risk of harm to the occupants far outways that of preventing the intruder from hurting you.

It is such a simple thing.

You are not likely to get injured/killed by a robber.

You are more likely to get injured by a gun if you have one in the home. This risk is FAR greater then the robber risk.

I feel safe, Locked in a safe with gun and mag seperated.
I was in Chicago a month or so ago. For you, carry the gun at all times loaded and in hand *chuckle* that place is SCARY! Well we ended up near cabrini green by mistake and two of the girls I was with got mugged at gunpoint while we were up in some weird artsy flee market.

All the protection I need and believe me much faster than my reaction time in the middle of the night //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
x2, dogs FTW:)

I have had two occassions in my life where it was necessary to have my 870 in hand and ready to fire.

It really is nice to have a pump shotgun. The sound of the pump is a great deterrent.

I had lunch yesterday with a guy that actually shot an intruder with his Glock. (actually, he shot him more than once).

^^^^^ all true.
