Do you feel safer with a gun, or without?

Again...spoken by a rational person, who is not angry, etc.

Now ...god forbid...say someone ***** someone you know...or your wife was banging the mailman and taking the kids and all your money... unfortunately for a lot of people rational choices are not what happens next.

Really interesting interviews with people who this sort of thing happened to. All very sorry, upset, and don't know how it happened. It is like road rage, a lot of people just overcome with emotion.

The whole point is why take the chance? Is your neighbourhood really that unsafe? Find out the annual stats of how many people were violently injured in your city. If it is less then those hurt by their own guns...you are not safer having one.

If everyone is trained and you keep a gun locked where only you and your significan other can use it and you keep it unloaded with the amo kept close, but not with in immediate sight that kind of stuff wont happen.
If you know how to handle guns you and no one you care about will ever be hurt by them.

So you want the disarmament of private citizens? Let me present you with a scenario/question...will you put a 2'x8' sign in your front yard that reads "We do not believe in the ownership of firearms"? I bet you wont...
you want to know why no country would ever invade America, specificly the southern states? They would be dead faster than they could count to 10. Civilian Mitlitia > any army. It would be like cowboys walking into an indian amush. Take away our firearms and we rely on our military to protect us...the are getting more and more soft by the day.

My idea, train kids with guns in school like another subject and start sentenceing people to military duty agian.

We dont need to train them. Video games already do it. Give a rifle to any counter strike player and he'll put a few rounds through the head of a silhoutte, lol

Ehhh, beating the shit out of someone inflicts more pain than putting a 0.45 special to their head. That is how I think when I am angry. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

People who kill people with guns like that where not properly trained with them in the firstplace 99% of the time.

THATS FUNNY! I was just thinking that when I was reading it!! Except I was thinking battlefield.

Totally true man. It is not the "guns" fault...it has no responsibility..it is just an object.

The point is it is a FAR more lethal tool then the other things you speak of. Hence why it may not increase your risk of getting injured...but the severity of the injury (i.e. serious, death, etc.)

The gun is a **** tool. If the kids played baseball, I'd be the pissed off mother would grab a bat. If the dad liked Ninjas and had a friggin katana, I bet she'd pull that out too...its not the guns fault. it doesnt discharge without someone pulling the trigger...

Your from canada! With your flapping head and beady little eyes *grin* sorry southpark is on in 12 minutes had to get ready :p

a gun always makes me feel safer. I would use a shotty for protection and i would shoot to kill if someone was threatening but i usually just stalk them around the house with a hunting knife and sneak up on then and slit their throught.

Jk but that would be pretty sweet

Not quite the same. Video games teach kids it's all fun and games. Guns are very serious, but like drugs and alcohol should be addressed at a young age. On top of that, unless they are playing with the USarmy's simulations (which I got to do and it was awsome. Modified M16's on a projected screen with compressed air for kick back) they dont know how to actually operate, aim, and get good grouping.

Dude...read the first post man. Have guns, like guns. Just saying safer not keeping them at home. Stay with us.

If I "needed" some gun cause this crazy army invaded the southern states after getting through the largest military in the world...well then... I would drive over to the gun club...and pull out all my guns..and hand them out.

Agian, in the right (or wrong) hands, a sharp kitchen steak knife is just as leathal as any gun.

I know, I was just referencing a Ron White bit. Every kid should be taking the courses I do. Basic firearms safety and defensive pistol. We set up mock walls, targets and hostages and scenarios. Its surprising realistic and sadly, I outshoot cops on a weekly basis...

I understand that there are people out there that should not be able to own a firearm. Just because they dont have the proper training. Thats when it comes down to the point where a gun should not be in the home.

But other than that, I feel so much safer. Hell even my parents have a lil .22 revolver in the house.
