Thanks! I didn't mean to imply that "all" reviews were biased. I've had a bad experience or two lately with going by what "he said/she said". One instance is I bought a Hifonics ZRX1200.2 amplifier to push two PIONEER TS-W260D4 DUAL 4 OHM 10" CHAMPION SERIES 350W RMS speakers, and I'm not satisfied at all. The amplifier overheats after about 1 hour of pushing it (wired in 4 ohm per channel), and I can't even hear the subwoofers very well at all. I had it professionally installed because I don't have the time or tools to do it myself. I'm thinking some of the lack of bass has to do with my wife's car having leather seats in the back (which will muffle a lot of the bass), and the box I have is to spec, although it could be better. What do you suggest for making what I currently have sound like it's supposed to?If you've been around other audio enthusiasts as long as you claim to have been listening to "very good" stereos, you know fully well how passionate people can be about their equipment. You seem to be implying that manufacturers and dealers are paying for good reviews. Sometimes there are samples sent around for review, and obviously those create bias, but when many, many reviews say the same praise you have to start believing something is genuine, right?
If the reviews are corrupt, why not look at test bench measurements? They're still done today. PASMag.com posts such measurements with every review, so you can skip over the print and go right to the data if you want.
