Do These Subs Work With This Amp??

Is it Possible to connect 3 Power Acoustik PW3-12H 12" Dual 2 ohms PW2 Series Subwoofers to a Power Acoustik PS2-2600 2600W Max, Power Series 2-Channel Amplifier......If so how would i go about doing that? and are the subs and amp goin to work together?

SUB:

Subwoofer Size 12"

Dual Voice Coil Dual

Impedance 2 ohms

Peak Power Handling 2400 watts

RMS Power Handling 800 watts

AMP:

Subwoofer Size 12"

Dual Voice Coil Dual

Impedance 2 ohms

Peak Power Handling 2400 watts

RMS Power Handling 800 watts

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Thanx

You posted the sub specs under the "amp" section. Some googling says:

No. of Channels : 2-Channels

4-Ohm RMS @ 450 Watts x 2-Channel

2-Ohms RMS @ 540 Watts x 2-Channel

Mono RMS @ 1080 Watts

Bridged MAX : 2600 Watts

It doesn't say how many ohms in bridged mode.

Unfortunately, no matter how you wire it, you won't get max power out of your subs. One option is to wire 3 voice coils in series, for a 6-ohm load, for each of the channels. This won't give anywhere near maximum power, though.

Another option is to wire each speaker's voice coils in series, then each speaker in parallel, so each speaker is 4 ohms, and the 3 of them in parallel for a single 1.3 ohm load, attached to the amp in bridged mode. But I have no idea if your amp can handle that. And even if it could, wiring the voice coils in series doesn't produce maximum output.

Option #3 is just like above, but instead of all 3 speakers wired in parallel, wire two speakers in parallel, for a 2-ohm load, and attach it to one channel, and the other speaker attached to the other channel as a 4-ohm load. This will probably be the only viable choice.

Basically, that amp is not a suitable choice for your subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

oh **** that sucks... thanks alot though...would it be better if i only hooked up two subs to this amp? Could I produce maximum power?

2600W Max, Power Series 2-Channel Amplifier

RMS Power Output:

4 ohms: 450 watts x 2 channels

2 ohms: 540 watts x 2 channels

Bridged, 4 ohms: 1080 watts x 1 channel

those were the specs from the site...
