DO NOT go to CIA Engineering for amp repair

thanks man. i personally think its bad enough i have been waiting 2+ months, but the lie after lie about deadlines is really annoying.
Very annoying. My amp should be there now and I'm not planning on seeing it for the next few months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

maybe u will have better luck than me. i got a tracking number on monday night after asking for it all weekend, well, since then, it STILL says "billing info recieved", as in not shipped or picked up by UPS yet. i wrote him an email asking why that is, after the SECOND email i wrote he replies "i called ups, they are checking into it", so i hope you have better luck than me, i remember when i got the email on dec. 12 saying it would be done in a couple days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I sent my amp to CIA early January, about three weeks ago. JK just recently said that the problem with my amp had to do with my mosfets, and that they would be here in 3-4 days.

Today is the 4th day and he is now saying they will be there on tuesday.

Sigh. I just want my amp back.

Might as well just buy the mosfets yourself and put em in. Thats what I wish I would of done with my powerbass, which they STILL have.....i havent called them in weeks, maybe its time for a threatening call? Maybe put a theft of property claim into the postmaster since technially its mail fraud.....I had to do that before with Amp Repair Center //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

If I had known the mosfets were the problem I totally would have.

I sent it to CIA the DAY BEFORE I saw this thread.

well, like i say, im gonna make a detailed thread, but last monday i got a tracking number that all it ever says as far as status was "billing info recieved", so i email him twice trying to figure out what it was, now he says the UPS truck that picked up my amp for shipment was involved in that 50 car pileup on the interstate earlier in the week(which actually happened, i seen it on the news), but whats the chances of that? he said he has to inspect 17 packages that were inside the truck for damages to see if he can simply reship them or needs to file a claim. he said mine checked out ok and it will reship monday, so we'll see. and need directions, im not trying to bash your story, but you have only been waiting a month if that. i wouldnt consider that out of line. 4-6 weeks would be what to expect i would think. several of us have been waiting almost 3 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

makes me wonder what the inside of his shop looks like, .... probably hundreds of amps just piled up like at a shady pawn shop....dirt everywhere, burnt mosfets all over the floor of the shop...and Joe in the back lounging on a couch and watching reruns of sanford and son.

Yeah dude I wasnt saying I was more inconvenienced than you guys, I hope mine doesn't take that long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

the pileup story sounds like total bullshit to me, i'd almost put money on it. has ANYONE ever has a good experience with this *******? hows such a waste of life stay in business?

Has anyone ever gotten a fixed amp back? oh my god.
well, the first time i sent my amp to him and had it "fixed", i got it back in like 3 weeks. then it had the same exact problem after an hour or so of play, so i had to send it back, and he still has it, although its supposedly shipping out tomorrow(like it has been 34985734 times before)
