do JL subs blow easy?

JL subs are quite difficult to blow, actually... they generally rate their power well below what they will really handle. It was 100% the fault of too much bass boost and user error.

With a 200watt amp, with the gains set properly and no bass boost.....that sub would have lasted for years.

I have the 12w1v2 which is the lower end JL......Im send 140watts to it and my gain are at about 60 percent (set properly) and my bass boost is OFF. You blew it because of excess use of bass boost & I'm sure your gains aren't set correctly.

Get better subs than JL next time.. it'll work better & be louder.. also, scrap tha capacitor.

If a sub blows it's almost always the USER'S fault.
