alright well i have a 12" 4 Ohm Kicker L7 in a ported kicker box and i had been running it on a 1000.1 amp from kicker (1114 true watts) with a 0 gauge wiring kit. it hits pretty friggin hard and gives me bass headaches //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif (sometimes). i have money and was wondering if the JL 13W7 will hit harder with a JL 1000/1 amp. ive seen vids of W7s beating the crap out of cars and stuff and i know that the SQ will for sure be better on the W7 but will it hit harder? thanks

in the correct enclosure the W7 will be more accurate than an L7. Save yourself money and use what you have. Buy a W7, make a correct enclosure for it and power it with the kicker amp you already have.

If you've got the money to spend, the 13w7 and 1000/1 would be an awesome setup. But, if you like what you have now, then why spend a lot of money to change?

One really cool thing about the Slash amps is that they will deliver AT LEAST the rated power even as low as 11 volts. Most amps do their rated power at 14.4, and significantly less as the voltage decreases. Also, the 1000/1 will give you more flexibility, because you can get the same power showing a 2 ohm load, or a 4 ohm load. It's a better made amp with more technology and better R&D put into it.

But again, if you like what you have now, and it hits hard enough to give you a headache, I don't see any huge reason to change your stuff out unless you can get a smoking deal on the JL products and sell your Kicker stuff without losing your a$$. I mean, at least wait until you blow something up or someone steals it or something, lol.

haha well my friend wanted a system in his accord so he wants to buy my kicker stuff. then ill just have to save a tiny bit more to get the 1000/1 and a 13W7 with my wiring. i want to do the big 3 but i cant see those pics on that thread so ill wait it out a little longer. yeah i hear that the slash amps are great stuff and i can afford it so its good. the only thing i wont have is an enclosure for it and im not "teh stuff" at building enclosures. will the 13W7 boom harder though? my kicker will move my mirrors, shake anything that is loose and rattle walls of houses that are about 5 houses down from where i am but will the W7 do more? ive seen vids of them like, bowing windows out, bowing roofs and stuff like that.

lol im 16 and was lucky enough to get a descent job. im buyin a 1990 volvo GL and am going to pump the audio hard into it. it will look dumpy but sound awesome. what do the 1000/1 amps generally run when it comes to true power? i hear that they get way over the rated 1000 watts.

They are not that super underrated cause they put out 1000 watts at multiple ohm loads. I have the alpine pdx2.150 and love it. You should look at that alpine pdx1.1000 in comparsion with the JL. Both very good amps. If you do buy that w7 and the pdx1.1000 you need to paypal me $3.50

lol why do i paypal you if i buy that amp? i was thinkin of sticking to JL amps if i was to run a JL sub. i was just wonderin if it will hit harder than my L7 with the big 3 done and using 0 gauge power wire.
