Do i need a new box?

I built a quick box for my massive cw12, its a simple slot port box. 2 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Massive Recomends a 2 cube enclosure, but the thing is im getting allot of port noise with rounded ports and not hitting really hard but getting really loud. And my port just turns into a huge fan at high volumes blowing crap all over my truck.

i think that this sub would work much better in around 3 cubes, if any one has any suggestions for this subs optimal box size please let me know.

It could just be due to the port volume that would cause the noise. When you say 2 cu/ft is this after all the displacments or gross volume?

FYI, Air movment from the port is always going to happen.

whats your port dimension? Did you use subwoofertools to design it? Most of the time it recomends not enough port volume. If you increase the xmax setting in that porgram it increases port width.

the smaller the port is the faster the air comming out of it will be

I just made a quick box, roughly 2 @ 31. Its one of LEX d's boxes.

Havent quite figured out yet how much space i have for my new custom box, but i think that i will have at least 3 cubes of space.

moe lester's designs don't have displacement taken out for subs... IIRC
