Do I need a Line out converter?

you should use a LOC. But you dont need the JL or to spend 250.

Get one online, or go to a shop/best buy and purchase one. It should be around 20 bucks and convert two pairs of speaker wire to 2 channels of RCA's, it should also have adjustable gains for each channel (left and right)

Does your maxima have the bose sound system(im not familiar with that year)

If it does you need to be careful of what you tap into with your line out. Some of these sound systems have lines specifically carrying only a certain frequency range, I ran into this problem on a similar car. You cant wire into subwoofer wires obviously, but then theres also wires that power just front tweeters in a lot of these sound systems. But anyways the harnesses at "factory" amps can be miusleading

Obviously you want to tap an unamplified full range line.

depending on wether or not you have the premium system or the regular system you might need something more then a loc. for example the new chevy 1500s have something that reduces the bass as you turn up the deck something like the cleansweep will keep that from happening.
