The Wistles Go WOOOOOO!
hey guys.. i bought one of the new hifonics BX1205Ds last week and just got it in the mail. i open it up liek its christmas and was a little worried..

the amp seems a LITTLE small to be 1200 rms.. i suppose that doesnt really matter.. in fact, the smaller the better i guess but i just kinda worried..

then i look on the side and see one 80 amp fuse. wtf??? i had a 600 watt amp with 90 amps worth on the side... does this fuse rating really do much? cause im pretty worried that this whole time ive been seeing 1200 rms everywhere.. its actually 600 rms and 1200 max.

PLEASE tell me im worng and that this is, in fact a 1200 watt amp.

also, does this 80 amp fuse mean that i only need an 80 amp fuse under the hood? cause thats what i have now but i didnt think there was any way it could handle 1200 rms.. the old bx1500d had a fuse rating of liek 150 amps or somethin.

AHH im confused as hell.. HELP PLEASE

Better designed amplifiers take less juice... Usually. Digital technology is a wonder... At the sacrifice of the "warmth" of A/B class (or so I'm told)

Not familiar with Hifonics so couldn't tell you exactly.

hmmmm.. thats awesome news then... sounds liek it might be 1200 rms after all..

now the REAL question is... can i run it through an 80 amp fuse or do i have to spend 30 bucks for an ANL box and fuse.. and if so what size?
