When i was a noob i had an rf 1 farad cap ghetto'd into my set-up. My box wasnt screwed down and the cap was screwed to the box. When the box would shift pretty hard, the wire would rip out and it was pretty audible when it wasnt hooked up.

Do they do anything?...sure

there should be a clarification in the first post...

caps can stop your headlights from dimming IF you wire them to your headlights, not to your amp...

if you have headlight dimming issues, and you want to fix that, then wire the cap to your headlights.

What the **** kind of question is that? Do capacitors work? Yes, they work. Do they help you hit the really high DeeBeez? No.

They work if done correctly and if there big enough for your aplication. You have to run the ground wire from your amp to the ground on the ground on the cap then run the caps ground to the chasis. Run the power to the cap and then run the power from the cap to your amp. If you have the right size cap it will hold only a little but it dosen't help your spl any.

preserving alternator life; no. if any, strain it even more
